This Platinum Resistance Thermometer comprises a length of fine platinum wire (approximately 2 ohms resistance) wound non-inductively on a mica frame and soldered to copper leads. Compensating leads are provided, with all four leads connected to 4mm socket terminals.
This instrument demonstrates the principle of platinum resistance thermometry — how electrical resistance changes with temperature. Suitable for physics classrooms studying thermometry, resistance, and temperature measurement.
