Sulfide Indole Motility (SIM) Differential Medium

This 100 g bottle of Sulfide Indole Motility (SIM) differential medium is a selective growth medium used to culture, maintain, and study gram-negative enteric bacteria. It tests for three characteristics simultaneously: hydrogen sulfide production, indole formation, and motility. Kovac's reagent is required for the indole test and is not included. To prepare, mix 30 g of medium with 1 L of deionized water and bring the mixture to a boil while stirring until the powder is completely dissolved, then dispense into tubes or petri dishes and sterilize.
