This set of 12 raw apatite specimens features one of the few common phosphate minerals, often found as an accessory mineral in igneous rock or as concretions and detrital clasts in sedimentary rocks. With a Mohs hardness of 5 and a relatively uncommon crystal habit, apatite is excellent for mineralogy demonstrations. Each specimen measures approximately 1 inch in length, with slight variation in shape, size, and color. Each specimen is hand-selected and processed by a geologist in Victor, NY, individually packaged in transparent labeled and barcoded bags.
