Buchner Funnel, 13cm I.D. - Polypropylene, 2 Parts - Designed for 11-12.5cm Filter Paper

This Büchner funnel is made from polypropylene in two parts, with straight sides and a perforated filter plate. The mouth measures 130mm (5.1 inches) in inner diameter, assembled length is 210mm (8.25 inches), and the stem is 85mm (3.3 inches) long with an inner diameter of 20mm (0.8 inches). The two interlocking parts form a vacuum seal without grease, which avoids the filtrate contamination and cleanup a greased glass joint involves. Filter paper of 11cm to 12.5cm diameter is required and not included. Moistening the paper with a little solvent before applying vacuum seats it against the plate and prevents the initial leakage that lets unfiltered liquid bypass the paper at the edges. Polypropylene keeps the funnel light and autoclavable, and unlike a porcelain Büchner it survives being dropped. The funnel is used with a Büchner flask (CH0422C01), a Büchner ring, and sinter seals to complete a vacuum filtration setup.
