Hoffman Voltameter with PTFE Stopcocks, Borosilicate Glass

This Hoffman Electrolysis Apparatus is used for demonstrating the electrolytic decomposition of water and determining chemical composition through gas production. The borosilicate glass unit consists of two 50mL capacity outer tubes graduated in 0.2mL increments, connected to a central tube with a 200mL-capacity funnel-shaped bulb. Includes 2 PTFE stopcocks, 2 carbon electrodes in rubber stoppers, 2 platinum electrodes in rubber stoppers, and an instruction guide. Platinum electrodes are used for electrolysis of acidified water; carbon electrodes are used for ammonia solutions, hydrochloric acid, or chloride-containing solutions. A support stand with clamps (CH0740F) and 12V DC power supply are required but not included. Suitable for chemistry classrooms studying electrolysis and electrochemistry.
