These glucose test strips detect glucose levels from 0 to 3000 mg/dL (0-3%) in liquid solutions. The color chart features reference blocks at 0, 100, 300, 1000, and 3000 mg/dL for straightforward visual comparison. Each UV-resistant bag contains 100 plastic test strips, and the strips are specific to glucose detection. To use, immerse the test pad in the specimen for 1-2 seconds, remove excess liquid along the container edge, and compare to the color chart after 3 minutes. The strips detect glucose from the breakdown of starch but will not react with soft drinks or regular sugar, as those contain mainly fructose or sucrose. The enzyme requires glucose to undergo mutarotation, so glucose should be dissolved in the water solution for at least 3 hours prior to testing.
