This Garage Physics roller coaster kit uses a 20-foot, 5/8" diameter FDA-approved vinyl tube and a small set of 3/8" steel ball bearings to demonstrate the conversion between gravitational potential energy and translational/rotational kinetic energy. Nine removable wire hooks are supplied for anchoring the tube to walls and furniture in custom loop-de-loop configurations.
Kit contents: 20 ft vinyl tube, 9 removable wire hooks, twist ties with a clipper, 4 steel ball bearings, 3 rubbing alcohol pads, cardboard storage box, and assembly/experiment instructions. Well suited to STEM classrooms and home learners competing on transit time, number of loops, and final velocity. Tape, scratch paper, scissors, and a couple of tin cans are required for some experiments but not included.
