Raw Breccia Sedimentary Rock Hand Sample, Approx 3 inch

This raw breccia hand sample is a sedimentary rock specimen measuring approximately 3", individually selected and hand-processed by a geologist. Breccia is characterized by large, angular clasts cemented together in a fine-grained matrix. The angular shape of the clasts indicates that the fragments have not undergone significant transport or weathering from their source, making breccia a useful indicator of depositional history. This specimen contrasts well with conglomerate, a similar rock whose rounded clasts indicate longer transport distances.
