Osmosis and Diffusion Distance Learning Kit

This Innovating Science distance learning kit lets students explore two forms of passive transport — diffusion and osmosis — through hands-on experiments. Students investigate how solution temperature affects diffusion rate, set up an environment to facilitate osmosis using dialysis tubing, and gather data over time to determine whether osmosis occurred. The kit contains materials for 2 student groups: 3mL blue food coloring, 20mL deionized water, sucrose QuickSolution (makes 20mL of 1M solution), 2 pieces of dialysis tubing, 4 plastic cups, 2 graduated pipettes, 2 plastic vials, instruction manual, and SDS sheets.
