Physical and Chemical Properties of Matter Classroom Group Kit

This kit gives students hands-on practice identifying the physical and chemical properties of matter. Activities explore density, melting and boiling points, smell, color, and solubility on the physical side, plus chemical-property tests in which students identify unknowns by observed reactions. The kit contains enough material for 10 groups. Kit contents include aqueous reagents (cupric sulfate, ammonium hydroxide, acetic acid, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, sodium carbonate, and an unknown), solid samples (sodium chloride, calcium chloride, dextrose, sand, talc powder, zinc, copper, aluminum, and glass), pH strips, preprinted acetate sheets, and thermometers. A teacher's manual and student study-guide copy masters are included. For laboratory use only.
