This DNA/Chromosome Staining Lab Activity kit allows students to prepare, stain, and mount microscope slides using specially prepared onion root tips. The activity demonstrates chromosome structure and cell division stages visible under magnification after staining. The kit includes: 1 vial of preserved root tips, 2 x 25mL bottles of 6M hydrochloric acid, 2 x 25mL bottles of 1.0% toluidine blue solution, 1 box of microscope slides, and 1 box of coverslips.
