DNA and Chromosome Staining Small Group Learning Kit with Squashed Stained Slides

This mitosis investigation kit provides the materials needed for students to prepare, stain, and mount their own microscope slides from preserved onion root tips, then identify the phases of plant mitosis and chromosomal development. The kit includes a vial of preserved root tips, 20mL of 6M hydrochloric acid, 20mL of 1.0% toluidine blue solution, a box of 72 microscope slides, a box of 100 coverslips, five aluminum dishes, and five forceps. Enough materials are provided for five groups of students. The kit also includes safety data sheets, an instruction manual, and worksheets. A microscope is required but not included.
