NYS Intermediate Learning Science Cells It's Alive Guided Inquiry Kit

This cell biology investigation kit includes 11 prepared microscope slides covering a range of specimens: human hair, thread, sand, onion bulb epidermis, onion root tip, elodea, yeast, euglena, paramecia, human cheek cells, and human nerve cells. Students plan and carry out their own investigation, observing samples under a microscope to explore cell structure and distinguish between living and non-living substances, animal and plant cells, and unicellular versus multicellular organisms. The kit is aligned to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), addressing Disciplinary Core Idea LS1.A and Performance Expectations MS-LS-1 through MS-LS-3.
