Diffusion and Osmosis Cell Membrane Small Group Learning Kit

This Diffusion and Osmosis experiment kit from Innovating Science enables students to study the movement of water and nutrients across cell membranes and observe osmosis using plant tissue. The kit explores the relationship between surface area and volume as it relates to cells and diffusion, and examines how molarity relates to osmotic potential. Materials include agar, bromothymol blue concentrate, hydrochloric acid, casting trays, dialysis tubing, microscope slides, coverslips, a cork borer, food coloring, and QuickSolutions for making six different solutions at various sucrose, sodium chloride, glucose, and ovalbumin concentrations. The kit includes an instruction manual, worksheets, and enough materials for 4 groups of students. For laboratory use only.
