AP Biology Investigation #5 Photosynthesis Kit

This AP Biology Investigation #5 kit allows students to learn the necessary components and conditions for photosynthesis to occur. Using leaf disks, students measure the accumulation of oxygen and relate it to the rate of photosynthesis, then design and conduct guided-inquiry experiments examining the effects of a chosen variable on photosynthesis rates. The kit includes a hole punch, 16 dispensers (10 mL), 16 plastic cups, 30 mL dilute soap solution, and 50 g sodium bicarbonate. Materials are provided for 8 lab groups. The lab meets AP Science Practices 1, 2, 3, 6, and 7, and Big Idea 2. A teacher's manual and student study guide copymasters are included. This kit is designed for laboratory use only.
