Blue Bottle Reaction Chemistry Demonstration Kit

This Blue Bottle Reaction kit allows students to study the oxidation-reduction principle by mixing potassium hydroxide and dextrose with methylene blue and introducing oxygen via flask shaking. Oxidation is denoted by a change in solution color (flask sold separately). Suitable for ages 13 and older with adult supervision. The kit includes 2 x 25mL potassium hydroxide 5.0M solution, 1 x 6mL methylene blue chloride 1.0% solution, 5 x 5g dextrose monohydrate (glucose) powder, instructions, and safety data sheet. Meets DOT small quantity exemption 173.4 and conforms to 49 CFR 173.4 for domestic highway or rail transport only. For laboratory use only. Not for food, drug, or household use.
