Formation of Silicates Red and White Precipitates Demonstration Kit

This Formation of Silicates demonstration kit allows students to investigate the difference in solubility between two silicate solutions. When a divalent silicate solution is poured into a monovalent silicate solution, ring-shaped red and white precipitates ("donuts") form, providing a visually striking demonstration of silicate chemistry. A petri dish or small beaker is required but not included. The kit includes 50mL of 1.0M calcium chloride solution, 50mL of 1.0M calcium chloride solution with phenolphthalein, and 200mL of 15% aqueous sodium silicate solution, along with instructions and safety data sheets. Works well as a classroom demo or small group hands-on activity. For laboratory use only.
