Thionin and Iron Light-Induced Redox Reaction Chemistry Kit

This Thionin and Iron: A Light-Induced Redox Reaction kit allows students to study a light-induced redox reaction. Students place a thionin and iron solution in a container (sold separately) and expose one half to light. The colored thionin is reduced by iron ions and turns clear, while the unexposed half remains colored, providing a striking visual demonstration. The kit includes 10g iron (II) sulfate, 2 x 25mL of 15.70% sulfuric acid solution, 0.023g thionin (makes 100mL), instructions, and an SDS packet.
