Forensic Drug and Poison Analysis Lab Kit for 15 Groups

This Forensic Drug and Poison Analysis lab activity teaches students the difference between forensic chemistry and forensic toxicology. Students perform presumptive chemical tests on simulated drugs and poisons, identify unknown samples, and examine simulated urine for evidence of heavy metal poisoning using chromatography. Materials sufficient for 15 groups. The kit includes simulated marijuana, LSD, and cocaine, simulated Scott and Van Urk reagents, simulated lead and mercury solutions, aspirin, acetaminophen, antacids, unknown samples, universal indicator, hydrochloric acid, ferric nitrate, ninhydrin, ethanol, chromatography solvent and sheets, spot plates, scoops, and instructional materials. Distilled water, UV light, rulers, large beakers, and plastic wrap are required but not included. For laboratory use only.
