Forensic Analysis of Fabric and Fibers Kit for 10 Groups

This forensic analysis kit introduces students to fabric and fiber analysis techniques used in criminal investigations. Students first analyze known fabric samples to learn cloth weave identification, microscopic fiber analysis, burn testing, and chemical analysis, then apply these techniques to unknown samples from a simulated crime scene. The kit contains materials for 10 groups, including acetone (4 x 25mL), sodium hypochlorite (4 x 25mL), hydrochloric acid (4 x 25mL), sodium hydroxide (4 x 25mL), mounting medium (25mL), pH strips, microscope slides, cover slips, lead acetate paper, 10 metal forceps, and fabric samples of cotton, wool, acetate, polypropylene, polyester, plus crime scene and suspect samples.
