Properties of Aspirin Small Group Learning Kit

This Properties of Aspirin Small Group Learning kit allows students to investigate the various properties and history of aspirin. Students examine the solubility of different types of aspirin in simulated gastrointestinal conditions, investigate buffered aspirin in acidic environments, and compare the relative quantities of aspirin in regular and extra-strength tablets. Materials sufficient for 5 groups. The kit includes 5 chemical bottles, 18 universal indicator strips, 5 graduated pipettes, 15 medicine cups, 25 regular aspirin tablets, 20 buffered aspirin tablets, 15 enteric-coated aspirin tablets, 5 extra-strength aspirin tablets, a teacher/parent instruction manual with worksheets, and safety data sheets. Required materials not included: distilled water, graduated cylinders, glass stirring rods, and labeling tape. For laboratory use only.
