Production of Biodiesel Small Group Learning Kit for 5 Groups

This Production of Biodiesel Small Group Learning kit allows students to synthesize their own biodiesel using a two-phase process to produce small batches of crude biodiesel for demonstrating the burning qualities of biodiesel and vegetable oil. An optional refining activity allows students to wash the synthesized biodiesel to meet quality levels suitable for vehicle use. Materials sufficient for 5 groups. The kit includes 2 bottles of vegetable oil (500mL each), 5 bottles of methyl alcohol (25mL each), 10g potassium hydroxide, and 2 micro burners. A teacher's manual and student study guide copymasters are included. For laboratory use only.
