Crop Soil Compaction Kit

This kit provides materials for 10 groups to model machinery-driven soil compaction and compare conventional tillage with no-till conditions. Students relate compaction to pore space, water movement, and root-zone conditions while observing differences in crop development. The kit includes pea seeds, growing cups, soil, sand, clay powder, scooping cups, mixing bags, and misting bottles for preparing and comparing contrasting soil mixtures.
