Soil Compaction Plant Growth Kit

This kit provides materials for 8 groups to compare plant growth in compacted soil, sand, and clay conditions and examine effects associated with mechanized agriculture. Students connect their growth observations with how heavy machinery can alter soil structure and root-zone conditions. The kit includes pea seeds, growing cups, soil, sand, clay powder, scooping cups, mixing bags, and misting bottles for preparing and comparing the different growing media. A Teacher's Manual and Study Guide copymaster support controlled setup, observation, and comparison.
