Product Description
This NeuLog soil moisture logger sensor measures soil moisture by detecting vacuum pressure in a built-in tensiometer. A ceramic tip filled with water is placed in soil; as the soil dries, water diffuses out and vacuum pressure increases. When soil is wetted, the vacuum decreases as water is drawn back in.
The sensor has a range of 0-50 cBar (or 0-50 kPascal) with 10-bit ADC resolution (0.02 cBar/kPascal) and a maximum sample rate of 100 samples per second. Experiment duration ranges from 1 second to 31 days. Connection hardware is required and sold separately.
