This 1 kg bottle of nutrient agar is a general-purpose powdered growth medium used to cultivate and study a wide variety of bacteria and some fungi in petri dishes or culture tube slants. One kilogram prepares approximately 43 liters of medium. To prepare, mix 23 g of powder with 1 L of deionized water and bring to a boil while stirring until the medium is fully dissolved. Dispense into petri dishes or culture tubes and allow the medium to cool and solidify before inoculation. For laboratory use only.
