This all-inclusive kit contains a vacuum jar with a built-in buzzer for demonstrating the effect of air pressure on sound transmission. The jar is constructed from thick acrylic plastic with a removable bottom, and top and bottom O-rings ensure a leak-free fit. A valve on top provides easy connection for a vacuum pump. The internal buzzer includes a flip switch and the kit includes a battery. When air is evacuated from the jar using a hand vacuum pump (recommended but not included), the buzzer sound diminishes, demonstrating that sound requires a medium to travel through.
