The Pascal's Law Apparatus demonstrates the principle of hydrostatic pressure transmission through confined fluids. The apparatus consists of a base with four interchangeable vases of differing shape that screw into the top. An aperture in the bottom has a thin rubber diaphragm that bears upon the short arm of a lever pointer, with a movable index on the vertical scale. The base measures 10 x 7 x 1 inches, with a total height of 16.5 inches including the base. A hose clamp and rubber tubing (outer diameter 0.468 inches) are included. Students use the apparatus to observe that pressure at the base depends on the height of the water column, not the shape of the container, thereby confirming Pascal's principle.
