Hooke's Law Apparatus with Weight Pan

This Hooke's law apparatus features a metal base with a mirror scale and a spring supported from above with a weight holder (weighing pan) that serves as a pointer. The pan design allows any type of weights to be used for loading the spring. The apparatus is used to demonstrate Hooke's law: the extension of a spring is proportional to the applied force, within the elastic limit. Students add weights incrementally, read the corresponding extension on the mirror scale, and plot the linear relationship between force and extension. This is a taller design with a longer scale than the PH0322 model. Weights are not included.
