Aluminum Wire Testing Clamps with Wing Nuts

This pair of aluminum wire testing clamps features wing-nut and washer fixings and is designed for testing fine ductile materials including nylon, elastic bands, copper up to 30 SWG, and human hair, where the applied load does not exceed 10kg. The clamps are not suitable for testing low elasticity materials such as steel or brass. Each clamp measures 2.5 inches tall, 2 inches at the wide end, and 0.75 inches at the narrow end, with a 0.325-inch hole for slotted weights or hanging from a lab stand. Wire can be clamped through the hole in the main bolt or wrapped around it. Loading is by means of standard slotted weights (sold separately). Stretch is typically measured by placing a meter rule alongside the system. Suitable for physics experiments studying breaking strain, strength, and material properties.
