Center of Mass Roller-and-Ramp Demonstrator, 17"

This center of mass demonstrator consists of an inclined A-shaped ramp and a double-ended cone roller. When placed at the bottom of the ramp and released, the roller appears to travel uphill on its own. The underlying physics is that as the cone moves along the diverging rails, its center of mass actually descends, providing the gravitational force that drives the motion. The apparatus is constructed of durable wood with a clear coat finish and comes fully assembled. The ramp measures 17"L x 5"W x 2"H. It is designed for physics classroom demonstrations but also functions as an engaging desk piece.
