Internal Gear and Pinion Drive Mechanical Demonstration Model

This mechanical demonstration model shows the fundamentals of an internal gear and pinion drive. The open system is sandwiched between two clear plastic plates so students can observe the meshing of the gears from both sides, and two dials indicate relative rotation. The assembly is constructed from heavy-duty metal and plastic and is driven by a hand crank. Compact enough for benchtop or desktop use, it is well suited to physics and engineering classroom demonstrations of gear ratios and rotary motion.
