Wankel Rotary Engine Model

This hand-powered Wankel rotary engine model demonstrates the motion of a rotary-piston engine. The model is cut away to reveal internal construction, showing the triangular rotor tracing an epitrochoidal path inside the housing — a contrast to the reciprocating parts of conventional engines. A simulated spark plug uses a small lamp to indicate the firing point (2 AA batteries, not included). The large model measures 8 x 7 x 3.5 inches mounted on an 8 x 8 x 2.5-inch base, with a placard labeling each key component. Solidly constructed from aluminum and plastic, it is well suited to classroom demonstrations and as a conversation piece for automotive enthusiasts.
