Hydro-Electric Power Station with Working Water Turbine

This Hydro-Electric Power Station features a working brass chrome water wheel mounted in a 10cm cast aluminum casing with a transparent cover, allowing students to observe the conversion of water flow to electrical energy. The turbine is mounted on a metal base with a connected dynamo, motor, lamp, LED, and two-way selecting switch. The unit measures 13 x 9 x 7.5 inches. A switch selects power delivery to either a lamp or a Newton's Color Disc that appears white when spinning. The LED has constant power and can be removed to draw current from the output terminals via 4mm leads. The apparatus is designed for low water pressure operation and includes 25mm diameter outflow tubing and inlet tubing with adaptor for larger taps. A manual is supplied. Suitable for physics classroom demonstrations of energy conversion and hydroelectric power generation.
