Wooden Pinhole Camera, 6.5" Tall

This pinhole camera consists of two nested wooden boxes: a smaller box slides inside a larger box, which carries a round metal plate with seven different pinhole diameters at the opposite end. One end of the smaller box is open for viewing, and the end facing the larger box is fitted with a ground-glass screen on which the inverted image forms. A 5.5" yellow scale on the smaller box indicates the separation between the boxes when viewing objects, so users can measure how image size depends on pinhole-to-screen distance. When fully closed the unit measures 6.5"; the durable wooden construction stands up to repeated classroom handling. Well suited to demonstrations of pinhole imaging, ray optics, and the relationship between aperture size and image sharpness.
