Tuning Fork Set - Made of Aluminum

This set contains 13 plain shank aluminum tuning forks in a padded wooden storage case, covering the chromatic range from C 256 to C 512. Each fork is engraved with both its frequency and its musical note, so a fork separated from the case can be identified and returned to its slot. The set contains C 256, C1 271, D 288, D# 304.4, E 320, F 341.3, F1 362, G 384, G# 406, A 426.6, A# 456, B 480, and C 512. That span covers a full octave with intermediate steps, which allows the octave relationship between 256Hz and 512Hz to be demonstrated directly and beat frequencies to be produced at known intervals. The padded case holds each fork in its own recess, keeping the tines from knocking together in storage, since contact damage is the main cause of tuning drift in a fork set.
