Premium U-Form Wire Electromagnet, 4-6V

The Eisco Labs U-Form Wire Electromagnet demonstrates how an electric current produces a magnetic field. Two copper wire coils (270 turns of 0.7mm wire) are wrapped on a 9mm soft iron U-shaped frame with an attached armature, allowing students to test the magnet's load capacity and observe the relationship between current and magnetic strength. Two 4mm sockets connect to a 4–6V DC power source. Magnet measures approximately 4.75" x 4" x 1.75" (12 x 10 x 4.5 cm). Pair with a regulated DC supply such as the Eisco Labs PH1323A for reliable operation. Ideal for physics demonstrations on electricity and magnetism, and for student investigations using the magnet to lift metal objects, sort magnetic materials, or build simple pendulums.
