Variable Electromagnet

This variable coil electromagnet has 6 different coil options at 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 turns, allowing students to study the effect of current and number of coils on the strength of an electromagnet. A hook underneath is used to measure magnetic field strength by lifting weights (large paper clips work well). A variable DC low-voltage power supply is required (not included). Suitable for physics classroom experiments demonstrating electromagnetism, the relationship between current and magnetic field strength, and Ampere's law.
