Variable Gap Magnet for Physics Demonstrations

This variable gap magnet features 2 neodymium magnets attached to a pair of large screws in a solid metal base. The screws are 3 inches long with a 1-inch diameter and can be adjusted to vary the gap between magnets from 0.4 to 8.5cm. Field strength can be adjusted between 100 and 7500 Gauss. Supplied flat pole pieces (2 x 1 x 1/8 inches) provide a more uniform field when needed. The apparatus measures 5.25 inches long, 4.25 inches tall, and 2 inches wide, with a versatile base that can function as a freestanding unit or be mounted on a stand.
