Product Description

This Faraday's Law demonstration apparatus features an acrylic assembly holding a 100-turn coil with 4mm socket connections that slides on a long 15mm diameter acrylic tube. When a small cylindrical magnet (supplied) is dropped through the tube, the induced EMF can be monitored with an oscilloscope or data-logger. The amplitude of the induced voltage varies with the magnet's speed, providing the basis for student investigations into the relationship between distance fallen and output amplitude. At advanced levels, equations of motion can determine speed. Ideal for use with PC-based oscilloscopes for investigating output characteristics.
