Laplace Rail for Magnetic Field Demonstration, 11.75 x 3"

The Laplace rail from Eisco Labs is designed for demonstrating the force exerted by a magnetic field on a current-carrying conductor. The apparatus measures 11.75" long, 3" wide, and 2" tall, and is fitted with 4mm socket connectors for standard laboratory power supply connections. A free-moving conductor is placed on the rail and positioned between magnetic field sources. When current flows through the conductor (approximately 3 amps required for movement), the interaction between the magnetic field and the current produces a visible force that moves the conductor along the rail, demonstrating Laplace’s force law. This apparatus is suitable for physics experiments and demonstrations covering electromagnetism, the motor effect, and the relationship between current, magnetic field strength, and force on a conductor.
