This Electrophorus demonstration apparatus produces a strong spark repeatedly without recharging. The base is made of thick plastic with four rubber feet for convenient handling, and the plastic material generates a strong frictional charge when rubbed with fur or similar material due to the triboelectric effect. The 9cm diameter aluminum plate is designed with no sharp edges to prevent charge leakage. An insulating handle is attached for safe operation.
