This 2" (5cm) friction cube has four distinct surfaces — wood, paper, vinyl, and sandpaper — each with a different coefficient of friction. A hook is fixed to one face so the cube can be pulled with a spring scale or force sensor.
Well suited to physics classroom demonstrations and quantitative experiments on static and kinetic friction, including comparisons across surface materials and measurements of μs and μk.
