Standard Rheostat, 16Ω, 4A Max

This standard rheostat has a resistance of 16 Ohms and supports a maximum current of 4 Amps. It is wound with heavily oxidized constantan (copper-nickel alloy) wire on a vitreous enameled steel tube, with the tube supported on die-cast end pieces. The rheostat features a heavy-duty sliding contact made of phosphor bronze with nickel plating for corrosion resistance. Two 4mm terminal posts are fitted to facilitate external connection using conventional 4mm plugs. This rheostat is suitable for physics and electronics experiments where variable resistance is needed to control current flow in a circuit.
