Standard Rheostat, 2.5Ω, 9A Max

The Eisco Labs Standard Rheostat features a resistance of 2.5 Ohms with a maximum current capacity of 9A. The resistance wire is heavily oxidized constantan (copper-nickel alloy) wound on a vitreous enameled steel tube. A heavy-duty sliding contact made of phosphor bronze, nickel plated for corrosion resistance, provides smooth and reliable adjustment. Three binding post terminals allow connection as either a rheostat or potentiometer. The low resistance and high current capacity make this rheostat suitable for experiments requiring significant current flow. Ideal for physics classrooms.
