Standard Rheostat, 4.5Ω, 9A Max

This standard rheostat has a resistance of 4.5 ohms and a maximum current rating of 9A. The rheostat is wound with heavily oxidized constantan (copper-nickel alloy) wire on a vitreous enameled steel tube supported on die-cast ends. A heavy-duty sliding contact made of nickel-plated phosphor bronze provides corrosion resistance. Two 4mm terminal posts facilitate external connection with conventional 4mm plugs. Suitable for physics and electronics laboratories studying variable resistance, current control, and circuit experiments.
