Air-Cooled Rheostat, 36Ω, 300 x 44mm

This air-cooled rheostat provides variable resistance for electrical circuits in laboratory demonstrations. Oxidized constantan wire is wound on a vitreous-enameled tube, and a sliding contact carriage mounted on a slide bar carries a phosphor bronze contact for long life. The rheostat has a resistance of 36 ohms with a maximum current rating of 3 amps. The tube measures 300 x 44mm. Three binding posts provide electrical connections: one at each end of the winding and one at the end of the slide bar. Suitable for physics experiments covering variable resistance, Ohm's law, voltage division, and current control in DC circuits.
